Let’s Rock Reactions
I think I’d be echoing everyone when I say I’m a little underwhelmed be the recent apple event. While Steve did introduce some very good upgrades and updates, I felt as though it was all run of the mill. Let’s break down what was shown:
iTunes 8:
iTunes 8 was thia keynotes saving grace. The genius sidebar is actually very handy. In fact, I have already bought a couple songs that I didn’t know STP did (Revolution Beatles cover to name one) because of the Genius sidebar.
Re-designed Nano:
Everyone had already seen the new nano design so no surprise there (however, I do like all the new colors. Very vibrant).
Re-designed iPod touch:
The iPod touch redesign was expected and there wasn’t much it really added. The Genius on the go should be pretty sweet, but besides that, all they did was mimic the 3G iPhone in the Touch. They added some new games (Need for Speed, really?!) which all the little kiddies will buy but they are evolutionary, not revolutionary.
Apple also rolled out the Nike running interface into the Touch. While I’m sure many people welcome this, I’m not that impressed *yawn*.
Along with all of the redesigns, Apple shoved out some new accessories to go along with their new toys. The most significant of those, in my eyes would be the new in ear buds with an attached mic. I’m still quite skeptic of headphones coming from Apple. The headphones that come with iPods and iPhones suck worse than a hoover; I can’t stand them. They fall out, are cheap, break very easily, and most importantly let everyone in the tri-state area know what you are listening to. I swear, if I have to overhear a “I kissed a girl” while on the bus one more time, I’m going to go insane.
All in all, the keynote was good it just lacked that *sparkle* most of them have.
P.S. Jobs, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE, “…One more thing” ???
